Here are some tips for helping you lose weight without actually going on a diet.
Drink More Water
How important is water? For starters, nearly every cell in our bodies contains water, and cells won't function properly without water. The benefits of staying properly hydrated are many, including the fact that drinking water regularly will help you feel full and keep you from snacking on empty calories. It's also been shown that drinking cold water can speed up your metabolism as it works harder to regulate your body temperature. But another big benefit is that hydrating before exercise will improve your workout performance. Experts suggest drinking an ounce of water for every 10 pounds of body weight one or two hours before working out.
Drink Green Tea
Drinking green tea has been shown to provide a metabolism boost that can add up to 400 extra calories burned per week. Green tea also contains caffeine (although less than a cup of coffee) and caffeine is a stimulant that has been shown to aid fat burning. Last, but not least, green tea is loaded with antioxidants, many of which boost metabolism.
Get More Sleep
According to multiple studies, we eat more when we're sleep-deprived. In one study, participants who got only four hours of sleep consumed 300 more calories than they did when they got proper rest. Here's something else to consider: some foods can actually help you sleep because they contain the amino acid tryptophan. Non-fat popcorn is one example of many, as are yogurt, poultry, nuts and eggs.
Monitor Your Portions
Whether you're on a diet or not, watching how much you eat is always beneficial. Overeating can quickly derail your goals of losing or maintaining weight, and one way to prevent this is by knowing what an actual serving size. Serving sizes calculate how much you actually need to eat before you feel full.
Have A Support Group
Having a support group of like-minded individuals is important in no matter what you undertake in life. It can help you make better choices both in terms of your eating and your lifestyle.
